Not all personal training is created equal

There are many personal trainers out there. Unfortunately, in my experience, too many lack the depth of knowledge or qualifications to truly serve their clients beyond the basics. I've even been told by other PTs that personal training "isn't a real job." That mindset is exactly what holds this industry back—and worse, it short-changes the very people who trust us with their health.

I believe personal training should be far more than weight-loss plans, muscle-building routines, or generic sessions copy-pasted from client to client. It should start with listening—truly understanding where someone is coming from, what they need, and what’s required to help them get to where they want to go.

That’s why I started Validus Elite.

My goal is to raise the bar for this industry and deliver something exceptional. Every session is tailored to the individual. Life isn’t linear—your training shouldn’t be either. Maybe your six-month-old kept you up all night and today’s session needs to shift gears. Maybe you tweaked your back at work and need soft tissue therapy instead of a hypertrophy workout. Maybe you’re a competitive athlete training for vertical power, or maybe you’ve just had a total knee replacement and want to be hiking mountains in New Zealand again within the year.

These aren’t hypotheticals. These are real people I’ve worked with—and continue to support.

It’s why I earned a BSc and MSc, and why I continue to collect qualifications in a field where the minimum requirement is a three-month online course. It’s why I’ve volunteered, shadowed, and said yes to every opportunity to grow and deepen my knowledge across the health and fitness world.
